Movin' Out, the Broadway musical Time magazine called the "The Best Musical of the Year" closed after nearly four years, continuing to play to packed houses while entering into the the Top 50 list of longest running shows. Now, the original band members of Broadway's Tony Award winning, Grammy Award nominated musical, Movin' Out continue to perform at private and corporate functions.
The Movin' Out Band consists of several members of Billy Joel’s band and is fronted by the incredibly talented pianist and vocalist Wade Preston, an original "Piano Man" in the hit musical. The Movin' Out Band performs the Billy Joel classic hits that were part of "Movin Out" as well as other hits from Elton John, the Motown era and classic rock that makes a crowd scream for more.
The Movin Out Band band consists of original Broadway band members, National Tour band members or a combination of both depending on availability.
All original members of the Movin Out Band played on the Grammy Nominated “Movin Out” Original Cast Album, and all Movin Out Band members have impressive resumes that include some of music’s most popular artists. Some of the artists that members of the Movin Out Band have toured and recorded with include Billy Joel, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Natalie Cole, Luther Vandross, Will Smith, The Temptations, Four Tops, Mary Wilson & The Supremes, Shakira, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Alice Cooper, Hall & Oates, Meat Loaf, Tommy James & the Shondells, Alan Parson Project and Ted Nugent just to name a few!
The Movin Out band can suit the needs of any function and can consist of the 10 piece Broadway style band to as little as a 5 piece band or be expanded to include some of the dancers from the original Broadway cast.
